Greater Severna Park Mother's Club Inc (GSPMC) originated in 1981 as part of the Severna Park Newcomers Club. As the number of moms with children grew, the club broke off on it's own in 1983 and became the Greater Severna Park Mothers and Toddlers Club. To accommodate more moms in the growing community, the name was changed to the Greater Severna Park Mom's club in 1994 which it continued to be until the club was incorporated in 2017. The club officially became the Greater Severna Park Mother's Club and a 501c3 non-profit organization in 2018.
Whether you're new to Severna Park, new to motherhood, or just looking to make some new friends for you and your kids, we have something for everyone! We offer a wide variety of events so that stay at home moms, working moms, new moms, and seasoned moms can all find something that fits into their lifestyle. We encourage our members to be as involved as they want to be in the club. You will find some members that attend most of our events, while others join just for the playgroups, mom's night outs, or kids activities.
Benefits of a GSPMC membership include:
Playgroups: One of our most popular features, playgroups consist of approximately 7-8 moms with kids in similar age groups who meet on a weekly basis at members houses. When the weather is nice many playgroups meet outside at local parks, playgrounds, or beaches.
Family Social Events: These events are scattered throughout the year and provide an opportunity for the whole family to get together with other GSPMC families, usually on a weekend, and participate in fun activities together. Events in the past include our Fall Family Festival, Trunk or Treat, Christmas Party, Bowling Party and Spring Preppy Picnic.
Community Sponsored Kids Events & Crafts: Offered on varying days and times through out each month these give moms and kids a chance to get out of the house and try new things such as gym open plays, seasonal crafts, learning events, and much more usually at a discounted rate for our members! Our kids events & craft coordinators are always coming up with new and fun things for us to try!
Moms Night Out (MNO): Another one of our most popular features are our monthly moms-only nights out for our members to get out of the house and have some fun! Whether it's getting together for a glass of wine, shopping at a local boutique, sweating it out at a cardio class, or taking a cooking class we have something for everyone to enjoy.
Community Outreach: Throughout the year there are opportunities for our members to give back to the local community, as well as teach our kids about charity. Our annual activities have included preparing and serving dinners at Sarah's House, collecting diapers for local diaper bank, trick or treating at local nursing homes, and holiday gift drives.
Adult Socials: These adult-only events are held three times a year once in the fall, winter, and spring and give parents an opportunity to get out of the house enjoy some kid-free time together with other adults! Our annual winter gala is not only a fun time to dress up but also a fundraiser for Sarah's House, a local women's shelter, so you can have fun and give back to the community.
Member Forums: We encourage all of our members to join our private Facebook group. Members in good standing can search for "GSPMC-Members Only" on Facebook and request to join. On the page you will find discussions and information about upcoming GSPMC events as well as recommendations on everything from local doctors, birthday party venues or the best delivery pizza. For members who do not use Facebook we have recently opened up the option for forums on this website.
